Force Field...???

OK - I HAD to post this! I don't care if you enjoy military stuff or not - you MUST watch this! A new technology ("trophy") developed by Isreal that is unbelievable. My theory is that it uses sound somehow to discharge the RPG - the only reason I'm saying that is b/c of Isreal's effective research with sound as a type of weapon. Totally a guess - maybe not even logical - I know.

Anyway - check it out. Let me know how you think it works.

It definitely has to be some sort of wave, either sound or radio or something. I wonder if they can put a range on it, like an invisible fencce for dogs.

interesting - you can go to foxnews.com and find it in their video section.

It might be sound at an extremely high pitch (very high frequency) but I'm not really sure because I would think they would leave it on all the time to destroy IED's and mines and the video stated is doesn't detonate IED's and mines. The video also said it doesn't turn on until radar detects a RPG. Not leaving it on all the time makes me think it's a more dangerous wave like a high frequency microwave. Very interesting concept though and hopefully it will work and protect our troops.

good idea. it's probably not effective against IEDs and mines because they are stationary. The velocity of the RPG may have a factor in it. Also, it wouldn't be on all the time b/c when the tank/whatever fires it would need to stay intact. Yep, sound or microwave - could be. - thanks.

Very cool - and yes, it shold be great for us. And, i bet the Isreali's have a counter for it as well in case it gets into the wrong hands.

interesting, but scary that all of this time and money and effort is put into creating weapons. sad really. Ross think it's definitely a sound wave.
